The intern that wouldn’t leave

Since I’ve finished school it’s time to look for a proper job.  I keep showing up at my internship site to work, maybe they will take pity on me and hire me ) Actually I’m still working on the project I started while I was interning and have gotten permission to continue the project at their facility. I wanted to see the project to completion and I didn’t want to leave the client waiting for another intern to get the job finished.
I’m working on understanding the inner workings of Wordpress… it’s a complicated beast, to say the least. Anyone in cyberspace understand Wordpress?
I need an uninterrupted day to sit down and dissect the code.

What else??  Working on my resume, and logo, and my freelance website…. I’m giving myself the rest of August to get it all worked out so that when the kids head back to school I can focus my energies on getting a job, or freelance jobs, or both.

Found a great website that has a tutorial on how to take a photoshop mock-up and turn it into a css/html website. It’s a really great, easy to follow, plain english tutorial.  I am going to work on making my freelance/business site with this tutorial… stay tuned internet.

So where was I?

Got my laptop up and running… shiney new hard drive.

3 more weeks of school left, then time to get a full time job.  I’ve posted my resume/information at some freelance sites.  Goal is to get my resume/portfolio updated this week to send out.  I’m also sending one to a temp agency.

Need to update my portfolio website, cuz right now it’s just not kicking.

Good thing I can hand code, will be rockin’ it old school for a while.

So, yes…that’s it for the updates…

Rockin’ it old school…

So, as previously reported my precious laptop has died… seems it needs a new hard drive (anyone with a spare $100 bucks to loan me?).. ahem… but I digress.  I had to do some time sensitive updates to a website and this damned pc locks up when we try to open pdf’s.. so internet I’m putting this out there to anyone who stumbles along could someone look at these two pages http://www.tipphillmusicfest.org/performers.html (labeled link application) and http://www.tipphillmusicfest.org/sponsors.html (labeled link sponsor app) and try and open the pdf files and let me know if they do open and can be printed.

Dead…

My precious laptop is dead…
This afternoon will be spent trying to recover whatever files I can, fortunately I uploaded the internship site I was working on to my hosting site so I can at least recover that… but all the original files are gone, I don’t have photoshop, or dreamweaver on the pc.  Ugh, this bites!

I spent the better part of 6 hours yesterday working on my internship stuff and it’s all gone now.  Of course I didn’t back everything up, but it wouldn’t have helped with the stuff I was working on yesterday.. and that’s the stuff I’m most pissed off about.

Oh, well, what’s done is done… time to head off to school and then this afternoon try and figure out what I’m going to do.  My first stop will be the apple store and see how much this is going to cost to get it back up and running.
